Barney Lord
Barney is Dr. Lord's 8 year old Beagle. Barney runs the office and is always up for a good snack or two. When Barney is not snoring away on his nap, you can find him walking the town of Windsor greeting town members, or begging patients for attention and affection or staff for their lunches. This is the most spoiled rotten beagle you will ever have the chance of meeting.
Treatment Services
What We Provide
Healing the underlying behavioral and emotional problems contributing to your addiction is crucial to achieve long term sobriety. If left untreated, these issues can easily lead you to relapse, which would be a disservice to all the hard work you put into your recovery. Here our clinical team will work with you to identify and heal any mental and emotional disorders which contribute to your addiction.
Individual Counseling
Your personal history and circumstances make your addiction unique to you. This service is tailored for you and your addiction and focuses on educating you and making you strong enough - in mind and body - to be well. We will be with you every step of the way, motivating you and helping you to see that you are never alone in this tough journey.

Group Therapy
Group therapy we have found is important for long term recovery from substance use. With the value of learning from others, and from supporting others, it has been shown to dramatically improve long term abstinence and all around recovery.

Case Management
The vast knowledge a case manager has about the available resources in the area serves as a valuable tool for your recovery. A case manager can connect you with services within the program itself as well as with resources in the community. These are the individuals you or your loved one can ask for when you need to know more about the services that are available to help you combat addiction.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
ART therapy is shown to be effective in treating, addiction, post- traumatic stress disorder, depression, grief, and anxiety. This is a new approach to mental health counseling. It works by reprogramming how the brain stores memories and imagery. The treatment incorporates horizontal eye movements as well as memory reconsolidattion, which is a way where new information is incorporated with existing memories.

Hypnotherapy
Hypnosis, also referred to as hypnotherapy or hypnotic suggestion, is a trance-like state in which you have heightened focus and concentration. Hypnosis is done in office with the help of a therapist using verbal repetition and mental images. When you're under hypnosis, you usually feel calm and relaxed, and are more open to suggestions.
CVAR currently offers hypnotherapy for addiction, smoking cessation, weight loss, anxiety, depression, and self esteem and relate issues.

Acudetox
A specialized form of accupuncture specifically designed for those struggling with substance use issues. The acupuncture needles are gently placed in the ear at specific points. This helps balance the body’s energy and assists the healing process. It is referred to in Eastern medicine as a yin tonification, restoring calm inner qualities like serenity. This process is generally lasting from 30-45 minutes. Acudetox has shown to decrease cravings for alcohol and drugs, withdrawal symptoms, relapse episodes, anxiety, insomnia and agitation. Even more exciting, the effects can be immediate. There are usually no side-effects and the intervention is inexpensive. Clients report relaxation, stress and craving reduction, mental clarity, an increased sense of wellbeing and more energy.
